We call it the Ticker Tape Investment Committee in quotes, because there’s no such committee. It’s a very ad hoc process, and that makes sense. If we’re looking at an apartment complex deal, we’re talking to a different group of investors than if we’re looking at Scale AI or SpaceX.
We find the members of the Ticker Tape community with the most expertise for that particular deal, and whoever brought us the deal is part of the process too. The aim used to be to have five people weigh in, but it has ranged from two to seven or eight on some of the more popular deals. It’s informal, but we follow a handful of guidelines that we think have contributed to our success.
